I’ve never been a yes person. How and why are always on the tip of my tongue. Sometimes it drives people crazy that I can’t leave well enough alone and it’s not that most things aren’t good I just want to know what if? Especially with food. What if I did this? What would it taste like if? I have an incredibly hard time making a recipe twice, actually, I have a hard time making a recipe once because whenever I read a recipe I can’t help but ask the ever turning questions and inevitably something is changed. I sort of feel like life is short. Way too short to eat the same foods drink the same drinks and see the same things over and over again. So the first time I found a recipe for a 75 I actually had Pat make it for me. It was amazing and awesome with the sweetness of wine and syrup and lovely earthy floral notes from the gin and this amazing zing from the lemon. Oh. My. Goodness.
But not all sparkling wines are made the same and some are just so delicate that the gin does more to overpower than it does to enhance so when I tasted a sparkling rosè for the first time with its perfect fruity notes I knew it would be so much fun to create a pink lemonade that was fun and flirty and perfect for summer sipping.
